Jefferson St., Vandalia, IL 62471 This preschool/early childhood science workshop will help build on children’s sense of wonder about nature and invites them to explore wildlife and the world around them. Teachers will receive an activity guide with 27 field tested, hands-on, nature-based, ready-made thematic units.

Jefferson St., Vandalia, IL 62471 Participants in this workshop will learn about the various types of rubrics and how they can be used in the classroom as both a teaching tool and format assessment. Examples will be given for how rubrics can be used by students to enhance learning and allow for better understanding of expectations. time and assistance will also be given to create your own rubric for your specific grade level/subject standard or classroom project.

Teachers will engage in hands-on, inquiry-based, and cooperative learning strategies that encourage higher-order reasoning skills.

The knowledge you gain will help these students succeed in your district. Administrator Academy Credit for Academy #1050 will be available for administrators for an additional $25 fee.

Jefferson St., Vandalia, IL 62471 Echoes and Reflections is a comprehensive Holocaust education program that delivers professional development and a rich array of resources for middle and high school teachers. Echoes and Reflections prepares educators to teach about the Holocaust in a way that stimulates engagement and critical thinking while providing opportunities for students to see the relevance of this complex history to their own lives.
