[Area V Reg Supts] New Principal Mentoring Program - req by ISBE

Good Morning,

As you might remember, ROE 50 is the HUB for Area V new principal mentoring
which is required for all new principals.   While other organizations offer
this, it is my hope that you will support the AREA V hub on this grant
initiative.

Dr. Martha Weld is our new grant guru at AREA V and she will be reaching
out to each of you for several grants.  However, training for coaches on
this grant occurs August 16-17.  Here is what we need from you:

1.  Help identifying new principals in your Region. - We are more than
happy to contact them, but several of you have preferred being a
liaison for us in the past.  Whatever your flavor, we will comply.

2.  Help identify possible retired or acting principals/superintendents
that you feel might have interest in mentoring a new principal and earn
some extra cash.  This works best if the mentor is from your region and
would be well received.  Estimated time is 40 hours, pay is $2,000 per
candidate.

3.  We would like to have a variety of grade levels as the grant prefers
coaches align with the grade level in which they worked.

Martha will be reaching out this week.  Again, the strength in AREA V is
that we support the efforts of our ROEs which is critical with the "hub"
approach.
